At Georgia Perimeter College (now part of Georgia State University), administrative assistants or department heads with Ph.ds were assigned the task of creating and maintaining their websites. As a result, website publishers were not writing in one voice and website design mimicked the “extreme creativity” and tackiness found on MySpace. After working with the web team to create consistent design templates within the Drupal Content Management System, I turned the “Writing for the Web” presentation I delivered at the college communicators conference Case III into a four hour in person course for web publishers of all staff levels.
